Job Overview & Responsibilities

The Project Manager 2 will manage the delivery of one or more customer-facing implementations with a focus on Oracle solutions. This may include Oracle SaaS products (HCM, ERP, EPM, CX, SCM, Analytics) and Oracle on-Prem financial applications (PeopleSoft or JD Edwards). Project may also include Oracle OCI, PaaS, or database components, as well. Assigned projects are of high value, risk, and/or complexity with contracts up to $10M USD. Delivery quality is expected to be consistent with client requirements and compliant with contracted terms, while adhering to Mythics’ methodology and modern best practices. Senior Project Managers must be able to perform duties with minimal oversight, working under only very general direction. They must independently collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to derive, develop, and implement project solutions, demonstrating considerable judgment and initiative.  This is a REMOTE opportunity. Travel may be required up to 50%, based on project contracts.  Green Card holder or US Citizenship required.

 Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

  • Significant experience leading and managing Oracle application implementations (HCM, ERP, EPM, CX, SCM, Analytics) or Oracle OCI, PaaS, and Database, or Oracle financial applications (JDE or PeopleSoft)
  • Experience leading delivery teams with a mix of consultants of up to 20 members, comprised of onshore, offshore, and contractor members.
  • Accurately track, compile, and present project metrics such as risks, mitigation plans, issues, change requests, decisions, staffing, budgets, and schedules.
  • Conduct management, stakeholder, and account meetings to provide comprehensive insights into project status.
  • Work with enterprise architects, solution architects, and team leads to ensure all technical, functional, and business objectives are in scope, represented in the plan, and managed accordingly.
  • Manage all stakeholders, to include executive level sponsors, while building and maintaining strong customer and third-party relationships
  • Manage, coordinate support, and conduct appropriate escalations for urgent and complex issues.
  • Lead delivery team.
  • Collaborate with resource managers and other project managers to maintain adequate and skilled staffing.
  • Assist HR and resource managers with consultant feedback, coaching, and evaluations.
  • Coach delivery consultants on internal processes and project management best practices.
  • Mentor junior project managers and consultants.
  • Monitor and control project’s scope and requirements throughout the project’s life cycle.
  • Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction, deepen client relationships, and upsell consulting engagements.
  • Manage day-to-day client interaction, identify needs, expectations, and evaluate alternative business solutions.
  • Serve as the primary project Point of Contact for assigned clients while developing lasting relationships with client personnel to foster client ties.
  • Manage and maintain project financial profitability according to booked margins.
  • Accurately maintain financial forecasting of cost, revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates and utilization.
  • Track and report financials, percent complete, schedule, burn, earned value, slippage, and opportunities and other key project indicators.
  • Forecast, track, control, and report project budgets to include team hours and expenses.
  • Coordinate with project accountants to determine appropriate revenue recognition, ensure timely and accurate invoicing, monitor invoice receivables, and work with client to ensure timely payments.
  • Work with Sales, Operations Directors, and Account Manager to ensure clients achieve an understanding of expectations, deliverables, dependencies, risks and progress.
  • Perform all other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of work experience with 6+ years of experience in a project management position.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing IT projects.
  • 2+ years of consulting experience with Public Sector customers.
  • PMP or other relevant PMI certification (PfMP or PgMP) is required.
  • US Citizen or Green Card holder required for projects.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Applications, OCI, Oracle Database, or Exadata.
  • Experience with Agile project management practices such as Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban.
  • Experience with ERP or HCM applications such as Oracle EBusiness, PeopleSoft, NetSuite, Workday, JD Edwards, or SAP HANA.
  • Agile delivery certification and experience.

 Knowledge / Skills / Abilities (KSAs):

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Project applications.
  • Understand revenue models, P/L, cost-to-completion projections and be able to make decisions independently, in-line with business plan objectives.
  • Understand consulting pricing models and billing procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Organized with ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Self-managed and self-motivated.
  • Demonstrate ability to build positive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrate ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Maintain focus and passion for customer experience.
  • Experience collaborating with Sales and an Account Manager, operating as a team supporting each customer in their portfolio
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, with ability to help create solutions and resolutions.
  • Team player.
