Job Overview & Responsibilities

The Communications Manager / Copywriter plays a dual role as both the strategic steward of the brand voice and the hands-on creator of written content across marketing channels for a technology sales and services company. This role is responsible for developing and managing the full communication lifecycle—from message ideation to distribution—ensuring that all content reflects brand consistency, resonates with target audiences, and supports business objectives. In this role, you will own the storytelling function for the brand, creating and overseeing marketing communications including web content, email campaigns, sales collateral, thought leadership and partner communications. You will also guide content strategy, editorial planning, and the alignment of marketing messaging across platforms, while working closely with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and OEM partners.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties

Content Development & Copywriting

  • Write, edit, and produce clear, engaging, and on-brand content for various formats: web pages, email campaigns, digital ads, white papers, case studies, event materials, product sheets, blog posts, and internal communications.
  • Ensure all messaging aligns with brand voice, value proposition, and positioning across all customer touchpoints.
  • Transform technical or complex information into compelling, audience-friendly narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Craft thought leadership and executive-level content, including bylined articles, keynote scripts, and partner-facing communications.

Communications Strategy & Editorial Planning

  • Own and manage the communications calendar and content pipeline in alignment with marketing campaigns, sales goals, product launches, and seasonal themes.
  • Collaborate with the broader marketing team and subject matter experts (SMEs) to create and refine a content strategy that drives awareness, demand, engagement, and retention.
  • Define messaging frameworks for campaigns, products, and programs—ensuring consistency across all communications.

Brand Stewardship & Messaging Governance

  • Uphold brand standards and voice across all internal and external communications.
  • Serve as the gatekeeper for written marketing content to ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Audit and refresh existing content to maintain brand integrity, relevancy, and SEO optimization.

Channel Oversight & Distribution

  • Manage the end-to-end distribution of content across digital channels: email platforms (e.g., Salesforce), social media, blogs, websites (e.g., WordPress), and partner portals.
  • Coordinate with internal team members and external vendors/agencies to ensure timely execution and distribution of campaigns.
  • Monitor engagement metrics and performance of content across channels, using data to optimize future content strategy and formats.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support

  • Work closely with marketing leadership, graphic design, sales, subject matter experts, and OEM partners to support key initiatives and messaging needs.
  • Provide writing and editorial support for proposals, presentations, and sales enablement materials.

Other Duties

  • Keep up to date with industry specific trends and market intelligence.
  • Perform all other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing communications, copywriting, content development, or brand management, with some years in technology industry.
  • Demonstrated writing portfolio with a variety of content types and tones, including B2B or technical writing.
  • Work experience managing content strategy and messaging in a fast-paced organization
  • Work experience in the public sector, or OEM/reseller environments is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, actionable messaging.
  • Creative thinker with a strategic mindset and strong storytelling instincts.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Expertise in using SalesForce (or similar marketing automation tools), WordPress CMS, social media platforms, and project management tools (e.g., Wrike, Asana).
  • Strong understanding of brand tone, storytelling, and user experience in written content.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and content optimization techniques.
  • Collaborative and proactive communicator who works well with cross-functional teams.
  • Passionate about building brand voice and ensuring consistency across the content lifecycle.
