Job Overview & Responsibilities

The Vice President, General Manager for our commercial Oracle business is a pivotal leadership role with a focus on expanding our company's technical delivery capabilities into the commercial market. This role is instrumental in fostering exceptional customer experiences, building and guiding high-performing teams, driving business development initiatives, and solidifying long-term customer relationships. Collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders, the VP, GM is a strategic and operational role that will ensure that our technical solutions are seamlessly aligned with commercial business objectives and market trends.


Responsibilities and Essential Duties

 

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the strategic plan for the new consulting division, including target markets, service offerings, and growth objectives.
  • Identify key market trends and emerging opportunities within the target industry.
  • Collaborate with other company leaders to align the new division with overall business strategy and identify cross-selling opportunities.

 

Business Development & Growth:

  • Build a Sales team that aligns with new commercial market opportunities.
  • Lead business development initiatives, including identification, pursuit, and closing of new commercial market opportunities.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and partnerships with commercial clients, focusing on long-term value creation.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, customers, and industry influencers to foster business opportunities.

 

Team Building & Leadership:

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of consultants, project managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Cultivate a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on results, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the division.

 

Financial Oversight & Performance:

  • Manage the division's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
  • Provide regular performance reports and forecasts to the executive team, including revenue projections, profitability, and resource allocation.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure business success and adjust strategies as necessary.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration or a related field is required. MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in consulting, with a proven track record of business development and practice growth.
  • Proven track record of growing and leading commercial business divisions in consulting or technology-driven organizations.

 Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Deep understanding of the Oracle technologies, Cloud offerings and migration strategies.
  • Oracle Licensing experience, including licensing Oracle Software in both cloud and on-premises environments, licensing Oracle Technology on 3rd party clouds, and Oracle Licensing for Enterprise Systems, Disaster Recovery, and ULA agreements. 
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a growth mindset and ability to execute plans effectively.
  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.
  • Proven ability to manage complex client relationships and sales cycles.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong working knowledge or experience with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
