Position Summary:

 

The Sr. Product Manager works with several members across the organization, including technical teams, project managers, and sales teams. The Sr. Product Manager operates as a skilled market analyst and is responsible to strategize the full lifecycle of product production — from conception through release. This role maintains a keen eye for gaps in product offerings and employs an innovative mindset to fill them. This product leadership role is responsible for guiding cross-functional teams in the successful creation of products that improve consumer experience and grow market share.


Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

  • Oversee the design, development and planning for how to market and promote the company’s products and solutions
  • Work closely with upper management to define product or solution concepts, feature-sets, positioning, implementation, and strategy
  • Determine customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information
  • Assess market competition by comparing the company's products to competitors' products
  • Provide source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives
  • Assess product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results
  • Bring new products and solutions to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; prepare return-on-investment analyses; establish time schedules with development teams
  • Determine product pricing by utilizing market research data, review development and sales costs
  • Define product marketing communication objectives
  • Provide management with product/solution analyses and reports and respond to questions and requests from management
  • Suggest workable solutions to development teams with consideration for product contract, positioning, and market requirements
  • Explore new ways of improving existing services and products as a way of increasing profitability
  • Provide product training, relevant technical papers, printed and electronic promotional material and the necessary technical expertise to sales team to enable selling the product
  • Identify and present creative and innovative product solutions
  • Interface with development leads to make sure that product requirements are understood
  • Coordinate product releases with the marketing, sales, development and service teams
  • Answer product related inquiries
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; review professional publications; establish personal networks; participate in professional societies
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years’ work experience with 5+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, business development or technology
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies specially building services around Managed Service Provider vs. Cloud Solutions Provider
  • Experience with end-to-end product delivery
  • Experience overseeing roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in product design or engineering
  • Previous software and web development experience
  • Proven experience working as a product developer in a non-managerial role

  • Ability to manage product roadmaps and implement scaled processes
  • Understanding of Agile and other development methodologies
