  • Job Overview & Responsibilities

    The Vice President, Managed Services is responsible for the managing, expanding and mentoring the teams responsible for delivering lifecycle services in a full-Service Provider model. This role leads the Managed Services team responsible for supporting our mission critical customer base and transforming the model to scale. A key component of the role is to implement and harden ITIL processes. You will build a culture that creates automation and introduces customers into production via automation. You will also work cross-functionally with other teams within the IaaS/PaaS/Managed Services group as part of the build out and on-going management of the Managed Services operations.

     

    Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

    • Build and scale all aspects of high-availability IaaS/PaaS/MMS operations (infrastructure, availability, 24x7 support, SLA compliance)
    • Foster a culture of operational excellence, accountability, innovation and collaboration
    • Drive high customer satisfaction and ensuring customers are references is essential
    • Create and manage operational KPIs that measure and drive excellence
    • Provide operational leadership and grow operational leaders within the team
    • Hire operations staff and manage individual performance
    • Actively take on mentoring responsibilities
    • Establish the vision and strategy for cloud infrastructure architecture, engineering and operations
    • Manage reporting and client escalation management
    • Manage customers that range from large enterprise class environments to small sized organizations
    • Manage all financial aspects of the Managed Services Team, including departmental P&L, forecasting, and expense management.
    • Translate overall organization strategy into tactical objectives for the Managed Services Team
    • Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and partners to ensure that products and services meet quality and cost standards
    • Be an inspirational role model by challenging and maximizing the strength of the team and aligning their efforts to the mission and vision of the organization
    • Work in close cooperation with all other areas of the organization

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a technical field, or equivalent experience
    • Minimum 15 years of direct service provider managed services experience
    • IaaS/PaaS/OCI, Azure, engineered Systems experience
    • Experience hiring, managing and developing a high performing team

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Able to be flexible and agile in responding to evolving business priorities and dealing with ambiguity
    • Strong operational skills that will drive organizational efficiencies and customer satisfaction
    • Willing and able to address escalated client issues with speed and urgency
    • Ability to collaborate across organization and with external stakeholders
    • Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
    • Strong time-management and organizational ability
    • Sound business judgment, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of taking ownership and leading by example
    • Advanced presentation skills, with ability to guide and influence senior leaders, customers and other key stakeholders
    • Strong ability to perform in a high pace environment and multitask
