    Mythics is looking for a highly motivated consultant to provide Exalogic and Oracle middleware operational managed services leadership, support, troubleshooting and issue resolution for mission critical databases, fusion middleware, applications and related systems.  In this role, you will execute hands-on technical delivery, leadership and mentorship support services, including analyzing incidents, system design and best practices, deployment and maintenance of software components, applications and systems in support of Exalogic, WebLogic, SOA/ESB, UCM, and other Oracle Middleware related solutions.

    You will work as a collaborative member of the elite Mythics Managed Services Sustainment Support team that is responsible for providing 24x7x365 support to various clients across the country.  This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to come in and work with a skilled team and attain knowledge of Oracle and other 3rd party vendor technologies.  Work location is Remote but may need to go onsite in Columbus, OH, Travel is 25%.


    The candidate for this position must be open to working traditional and non-traditional work week and hours.  Occasionally willing to work weekends, on-call, and alternate holiday schedules. Must be a team player and willing to work with the team on a 24x7 capacity. 


    Responsibilities include:

    • Proactively monitor, report, troubleshoot, escalate and resolve technical issues with Oracle and MSSQL databases and associated systems
    • Provide technical and subject matter expert (SME) thought-leadership to the mission critical systems and environments of our clients
    • Incident Resolution
    • Installation and Configuration of Exalogic, Oracle Fusion Middleware Weblogic Server, related components and databases
    • Review and analyze relevant middleware logs and operating system logs
    • Apply systems analysis techniques and procedures to identify and resolve middleware issues
    • Executing key Patching cycles (platinum and other)
    • Problem analysis and resolution
    • Root cause analysis and resolution
    • Log support requests with Oracle My Oracle Support and/or Microsoft Support or other 3rd party vendors as required
    • Documenting processes, standards and methodologies for working with client data and systems
    • Developing, updating and maintaining reporting processes and tools
    • Developing, updating documentation and architecture diagrams
    • Develop custom Web Services, Proxies, BPEL Processes, Business Rules, Transformations, Translations, and Reports utilizing available technology
    • Provide technical troubleshooting on issues requiring rapid resolution related to Oracle WebLogic Server, SOA Suite and Service Bus and Web Services
    • Provide Middleware patching as needed
    • Assist with the evaluation and implementation of new technology initiatives
    • Manage day-to-day efforts toward project accomplishments with general direction from senior technical staff
    • Participate in project planning and project status communications
    • The position requires the ability to work individually and in a team environment

    • Bachelor’s degree with major in computer science, information systems or other related field and/or equivalent work experience
    • 10+ years of experience technical consulting or managed services (architecture, design, development, implementation, integration, and/or administration) in a modern middleware based environment
    • 10+ years of experience architecting, implementing, developing, supporting and/or administering environments with one or more of the following technologies:
      • Oracle Exalogic
      • Oracle WebLogic Server 11g/12c
      • Oracle Web Tier (HTTP Server and/or Traffic Director) 11g/12c
      • Oracle SOA Suite 11g/12c
      • Oracle BPM Suite 11g/12c
      • Oracle WebCenter Suite (Portal, Content, Document Capture) 11g/12c
      • Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF) 11g/12c
      • Maven, MFT, OSB
    • Oracle Identity & Access Management Suite (OAM, OUD, IdM) 11g
    • Solid understanding of JavaEE, XML, Web Services, Web Servers, and Application Servers
    • Solid understanding of Oracle WebLogic (or other JavaEE AS) architecture and administration
    • Experience with installation and configuration of Oracle Fusion Middleware products in high-availability environments
    • Experience troubleshooting, performance tuning, testing and administration support of Oracle WebLogic Server, JVM, OHS and ADF custom applications
    • Good understanding of systems and software engineering, development, and testing concepts and techniques, including SDLC, unit/integration testing, and configuration management
    • Exposure to database technologies (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, DB2)
    • Exposure to XML, XSLT, XPATH and XQuery technologies
    • Basic knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, JDBC, and Oracle DB (not DBA level)
    • Trusted professional who can work in a team environment and who can communicate effectively
    • Proficiency in the use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Ability to prioritize and work with multiple assignments simultaneously
    • Strong organizational skills

    Desired Qualifications

    • Prior experience working in an operational production and development support team
    • Comfortable working in a team dynamic, sharing credit and experience with teammates and transitioning work through shift-changes
    • Exposure to Service Now, Remedy ticketing system, Atlassian JIRA Service Desk or similar tools
    • Any experience with Oracle tools/technologies is a major plus
    • Experience with Oracle Engineered Systems (Exadata, Exalogic, ODA, Exalytics, Super Cluster, ZFS Appliance)
    • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c/13c
