  • Job Overview & Responsibilities

    Mythics is hiring a Linux System Administrator/IT Specialist 2 for a long-term DoD project. This is a local project (DMV) with weekly or bi-weekly customer site visits, as well as remote work option. The Linux Administrator will be responsible for executing software patching, system backups, performance optimization, ontinuity of operations planning, availability management, etc. in order to maintain Certification and Accreditation (C&A) package approval and Authority to Operate (ATO) of current and future tools developed in support of our customer.

     

    Qualifications

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • U.S. Citizen
    • Top Secret with Active Single-Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)/Tier 5.
    • Any one of the following certifications to ensure DoD IAT compliance: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), A+ CE, CCNA-Security, Network+ CE, or System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) certification
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating system certification
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT, or Computer Science disciplines from an accredited college or university and/or equivalent work experience
    • Four (4) years’ overall experience as a system administrator which includes performance on DoD IT programs / projects
    • Demonstrated knowledge of IT principles, concepts, and methodology; e.g., data storage, software applications, knowledge management, portal management, etc.

    Desired Skills and Qualifications:

    • Master’s Degree in scientific, technical, or business management disciplines from an accredited college or university
    • Ten (10) years of experience in application maintenance and development
    • Java development experience
    • Grails framework experience
    • Well versed in CSS, HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery and Bootstrap
    • Tomcat or similar Web services experience
    • Experience with Oracle, SQL and creation and maintenance of database instances
    • Knowledge of elevant area(s) of IT Program Development, Project Management, IT Systems Management, and Application Management
