  • Job Overview & Responsibilities

    The Capture Director identifies the resources needed to pursue a business opportunity; oversees bid strategies, pricing, teaming, and proposal strategies; and manages the transition from business opportunity to proposal development to award.


    Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

    • Develop strategies, pricing, teaming, and proposal strategies.
    • Determine B&P budget required to capture an opportunity.
    • Align marketing intelligence with win strategy.
    • Determine what the potential customer needs to fulfill the requirements of the opportunity.
    • Conduct competition analyses.
    • Manage the transition from opportunity discovery to the proposal process.
    • Identify and organizes the resources necessary for opportunity pursuit and proposal development.
    • Identify qualified team members and/or subcontractors; coordinating development and execution of teaming/subcontract agreements.
    • Prepare a plan for the proposal development phase.
    • Work closely with proposal management staff in collaboration around capture strategies and associated activities and workstreams.
    • Serve as primary point of contact between the proposal documentation team and the program office solution team.
    • For each capture, ensure adherence to the capture process and proposal schedule.
    • Work with business unit executives on development of the Executive Summary and other key proposal summaries.
    • Participate as an independent proposal evaluator in all major proposals reviews.
    • Review and approve responses to questions received from customers following submission of proposals.
    • Compile Lessons Learned Report following completion of proposal activities.
    • Assist with transition to award execution.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    Minimum Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum 12 years’ experience combined in industry and business development with some experience in Federal IT industry.
    • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

      • Proven record of successfully growing business
      • Working knowledge of business development roles and business development techniques
      • Ability to interface with numerous Business Development and Operational managers at all organizational levels
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to synthesize requirements and present business cases for action/corporate response in a clear, concise, focused manner
      • Demonstrated focus on customer satisfaction and development and maintenance of relationships both internally and externally
      • Demonstrated problem solving skills and out-of-the-box thinking
      • Highly organized, data and results driven, detail oriented, and capable of multiple priorities
      • Strong team player, self-motivated, friendly, and enthusiastic disposition.
      • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills
      • Expertise in using job-related software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite
      • Active Top-Secret Government Security Clearance or Active Secret with ability to acquire a Top Secret
