  • Job Overview & Responsibilities

    The Customer Reference Program Manager will be instrumental in helping our company expand and scale the reference marketing program by developing a multi-dimensional portfolio of customer advocates, stories and sales tool assets that accelerate the sales cycle, increase market awareness and help articulate our company’s value proposition. The goal of our customer reference program is to add the voice of our customers to our corporate marketing activities by developing and nurturing customer advocates. This role is responsible for cultivating strong relationships with Sales, Business Leaders and our customers (project manager and executive level) to identify, procure and nurture customer advocates. Success in this role hinges on understanding the business priorities, sales process, and customer perceptions of our company.  Travel may be expected to participate in regional meetings.

     

    Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

    • Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify potential customer advocates in order to optimize the lead-to-customer advocacy conversion rate.
    • Secure customer advocates and develop plans for engaging customers based on their ability to validate the unique company business value, establishing confidence in our company. Marketing activities to manage and coordinate include speaking engagements, written case studies, custom content white papers, and videos.
    • Travel may be expected to participate in regional meetings.

    • Create and manage a plan of record with specified targets.
    • Identify opportunities to acknowledge and reward customer advocates by providing them with co-marketing opportunities, unique industry executive meetings, and a thought leadership platform in a programmatic fashion.
    • Develop comprehensive customer marketing plan to amplify success stories across various communication channels.
    • Create, manage and distribute weekly reports on the Reference Program pipeline; compile data, analyze trends and articulate learnings and results.
    • Work in close cooperation with all other areas of the organization.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in sales, inside sales, customer support or marketing.
    • 3-5 years of experience in reference program management, customer advocacy.
    • Experience in high tech, software industry environment.
    • 2+ years’ experience in social media/community.

     

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Proven track record working cross functionally with multiple stakeholders and managing programs within a team environment.
    • Ability to establish positive customer relationships with C/VP/Director level customers, and deliver an exceptional customer experience including account-based reference acquisition, creation and promotion plans.
    • Ability to create written content and provide internal briefings on program.
    • Knowledge, understanding of cloud computing and software sales.
    • Highly organized, data and results driven, detail oriented, and capable of handling several projects simultaneously.
    • Strong team player, self-motivated, friendly, and enthusiastic disposition.
    • Knowledge of job-related software applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, CRM tools and use of social media.
    • Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
