  • Job Overview & Responsibilities

    The Manager, Marketing Events and Programs is responsible for the planning, promotion, and execution of marketing events and programs for the company   Marketing events and programs include demand generation campaigns, webinars, tradeshows, networking events, business receptions and corporate events. This position is also responsible for managing the Headquarters events center, including strategic event development with business leadership, event scheduling, communication with event attendees, and running end-to-end event logistics. This role supervises individual contributor professionals in entry/mid-level marketing roles.


    Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

    • Plan event content and agendas for all events while working with sales and business development leadership.
    • Travel will be expected to participate in regional meetings and to attend national events, trade shows and conferences.
    • Coordinate and foster relationships with manufacturer channels, field and executive marketing leadership for the development of joint funded and joint promoted events, campaigns and programs.
    • Develop event project plans, including associated budgets and tracking expenses.
    • Oversee the planning and execution of all event logistics, including production of attendee materials, online promotion, catering arrangements, and on-site registration.
    • Coordinate internal and external speakers for successful event execution.
    • Manage and coordinate promotion of all events, attendee online registration, online communication to prospective attendees and timely follow-up communications to all attendees (or those who could not attend).
    • Maintain and creatively brand the company headquarters events center to create a professional, environment for event attendees.
    • Identify and acquire creative promotional items used in conjunction with company events nationally.
    • Create and distribute weekly reports on post-event ROI and feedback to executive stakeholders and business leaders; compile data, analyze trends and articulate learnings and results.
    • Handle supervisory duties to include leading, managing and motivating assigned staff to execute on team goals, and effectively achieve results through others.
    • Work in close cooperation with all other areas of the organization.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    Minimum Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in progressive corporate marketing roles.
    • 3-5 years of experience planning, promoting and executing events such as seminars, tradeshows, breakfast briefings, and receptions.
    • Experience in Business to Government (B2G) and Business to Business (B2B) marketing events in technology arena.
    • 1-2 years’ supervisory experience.


    • Demonstrated high touch event project management, budget management and planning skills.
    • Highly organized, data and results driven, detail oriented, and capable of handling several projects simultaneously.
    • Ability to define goals and then shape and contribute to the description, agendas and strategic messaging for events or campaigns managed with business leaders.
    • Ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with prospective vendors.
    • Ability to comfortably present summaries of seminar information to internal and external audiences.
    • Knowledge and experience in event promotion including social media.
    • Ability to lead by example, motivate and manage a team of professionals to achieve results.
    • Ability to hire, train and develop people.
    • Strong team player, self-motivated, friendly, and enthusiastic disposition.
    • Knowledge of job-related software applications, including event registration, workflow, marketing automation, and CRM.
    • Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
