    Mythics is looking for a strong multi-talented Business Analyst to support the development of the FDNY Data Warehouse.  The ideal candidate will fill several roles throughout the life of the project from gathering requirements, documentation, system testing and training the users on the Business Intelligence interface and underlying data warehouse.  This position is located at the client in Brooklyn, NY and must be onsite Mon-Fri.

     

    The Business Analyst will be responsible for working with the FDNY staff and project team members to ensure requirements are gathered, understood, documented, implemented, and any configuration management process that needs to be accomplished.  In the testing role, the Business Analyst will be responsible for authoring and checking the Test Plans and Procedures and ensuring the system meets the stated requirements. This consultant will execute the test plans/scripts, documenting the results and working with the team to correct any issues. They will also coordinate the test schedule and work with Users on User Acceptance Testing. The Business Analyst will also be responsible for training the FDNY users on the newly developed data warehouse solution. They will understand the new reports, data marts, data, and user requirements, building workshops specific to these objects. The Business Analyst will deliver up to two workshops to the FDNY users.

    • Gather and analyze user reporting and data requirements for the FDNY Data Warehouse
    • Provide documentation support throughout the project
    • Act as a liaison between the business owners and the development team
    • Lead the testing activities to ensure that the system meets the reporting and data needs
    • Create Test Plans, test scripts, execute, and document results
    • Work with development team to resolve any variances
    • Create technical artifacts such as requirements documents, requirements-traceability matrix, design documents, source-to-target mappings, and testing documents
    • Develop training on Data Warehouse and reports to end users
    • Deliver Work Shop/Training to End Users

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent work experience required
    • At least 3 years of experience in collecting, analyzing, and documenting user requirements preferably in a data warehouse/business intelligence application.
    • Skilled in various techniques of requirements gathering such as user interviews, joint application development (JAD) sessions, workshops etc.
    • Experience in analyzing functional requirements and producing business requirements documents, use cases, and screen and interface mockups. Act as the intermediary between the client requirements and the software developers, ensuring that technical solutions meet the desired business objectives.
    • Thorough understanding of various development techniques including Agile
    • Strong analytical, problem solving and product management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
    • Strong System Testing skills
    • Create training materials 
    • Deliver effective end user training
