Job Overview & Responsibilities

Mythics is looking for a Senior Middleware Oracle Consultant with experience and expertise around middleware and application management and monitoring, specifically using Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control (EMCC) 13c, WebLogic EE and SOA Management Packs, JVM Diagnostics, End-to-End Monitoring of JMS/HTTP/JDBC, Synthetic Transactions, Provisioning Automation, Life Cycle Management, Change Management, and Reporting.

  • Perform as a subject matter expert with regards to Oracle middleware and application management and monitoring, utilizing EMCC 13c, WebLogic EE and SOA Management Packs, RUEI 13c, Monitoring and Notifications, and other tools and technologies supporting
  • Assess EMCC 13c environment and provide recommendations for enhancing to adhere to enterprise deployment guidance and best practices.
  • Asses and analyze SOA and JMS messaging architecture and provide approach for end-to-end monitoring to provide proactive notifications of potential issues (e.g., delays in processing, stuck messages, spikes in throughput, etc.) as well as provide historical reporting and analysis
  • Establish baseline monitoring, management, and notifications for middleware targets
  • Establish SLA monitoring and alerting on JMS, JDBC, and HTTP Services
  • Develop Synthetic Transactions to support testing and validation of middleware environment
  • Automate FMW life cycle management operations (start, stop, deploy, clone, etc.) either through EMCC functionality or existing/enhanced external custom scripts
  • Establish process for FMW patching and upgrade management through EMCC
  • Configure SNMP Traps to be sent to external enterprise monitoring system (Spectrum)
  • Create gold image baselines for configuration comparison and change management process
  • Provide knowledge transfer to staff on the use of EMCC and advanced configurations
  • Design, develop, and enhance BI Publisher reports to provide reports and dashboard capabilities for the advanced EMCC configurations implemented
  • Manage day-to-day efforts toward project accomplishments.
  • Participate in project planning and project status communications.


  • 10+ years of progressive experience in technical and/or consulting role
  • Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or another engineering major or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience technical consulting (architecture, design, development, implementation, integration, and/or administration) in a modern middleware based environment
  • 3+ years of experience architecting, designing, implementing, developing, and/or administering EMCC 13c, RUEI 13c, SOA Suite, JMS, WebLogic/SOA Management Packs or other similar Oracle monitoring and management tools/technologies
  • Expert understanding of EMCC 13 architecture, features, and capabilities, specifically around middleware and application management and monitoring
  • Expert understanding of Oracle FMW deployment topologies, integration patterns, best practices, and architectures to support mission critical and high availability implementations
  • Solid understanding of JMS, JavaEE, XML, Webservices, Web Servers, and Application Servers
  • Solid understanding of Oracle WebLogic (or other JavaEE AS) architecture and administration
  • Understanding of cross-product integration with Oracle Fusion Middleware products.
  • Experience with installation and configuration Oracle Fusion Middleware products in high-availability environments
  • Experience troubleshooting, performance tuning, testing and administration support for Oracle Fusion Middleware applications and environments.
  • The position requires the ability to work individually or in a team environment.
  • Prioritization of day-to-day activities and long-term project-oriented tasks is essential.
  • The position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
